Kloss Park
About Kloss Park
A Playground for Everyone
One of the standout features at Kloss Park is its universal playground, updated in 2007 to welcome people of all abilities. The thoughtfully designed space includes wide ramps that give kids plenty of breathing room, and many of the play elements - including sand pits - are positioned at wheelchair height.
What's special about this setup is how it naturally brings children of all abilities together in play. The playground is spacious, well-maintained, and clean - no wonder it's become a go-to spot for families with kids of various ages.
Get Your Game On
For those into team sports or more relaxed activities, Kloss Park offers several options. Athletic types will appreciate the ball fields, including soccer fields and softball diamonds, while those looking for something more laid-back can try their hand at the horseshoe pits.
Around the park, you'll find numerous picnic areas, many nestled under the shade of magnificent mature trees - meant for family gatherings or casual meet-ups. For larger events, there are a couple of pavilions available too.
Paths to Explore
Need to get your steps in? The park offers excellent trail access with pathways that are ideal for walking, jogging, or even scooting around. These trails provide a nice balance of exercise opportunity and nature appreciation without having to leave the city.
The thoughtful layout of Kloss Park blends active recreation areas with more serene, natural spaces. Many locals bring their dogs here, taking advantage of the generous room for four-legged friends to stretch their legs.
Clean and Comfortable
One thing you'll notice right away is how clean and well-maintained the park is. Restrooms are conveniently located near the playground and kept in good condition - always a plus when you're spending the day outdoors.
You'll find plenty of seating scattered throughout the grounds, ideal for taking a breather and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Even during California's intense summer heat, the grass stays surprisingly green and ready for impromptu games of soccer, volleyball, or picnic blanket lounging.
Natural Beauty
The park is home to numerous mature trees that provide welcome shade, making Kloss comfortable even when temperatures soar. These beautiful trees contribute to a tranquil atmosphere, creating a little oasis within the bustling city.
If you're observant, you might spot some cute squirrels darting among the branches - a small but charming connection to nature during your visit.
