Acacia Park
About Acacia Park
Park Overview
Found in Fullerton, California, Acacia Park is a charming 8.6-acre green space that's been serving the community since 1977. This tree-filled space offers a peaceful escape from the urban hustle, with a well-maintained landscape where you can slow down and enjoy the outdoors.
Playground Paradise
Kids can burn off energy at the park's playground area, complete with swings and colorful equipment.
As of December 2023, the park boasts a brand-new playground designed for children ages 5-12. Little adventurers will love the unique mammoth head climber, double slides, and various climbing structures that encourage physical activity and imaginative play.
A heads-up for parents of toddlers: some features like the elevated rock bridge (about 6 feet high) don't have guardrails, making this playground perhaps better suited for more confident climbers and older kids.
Recreation for Everyone
Acacia Park is the neighborhood's outdoor activity center. The open fields regularly host youth leagues playing soccer, football, and baseball, with a dedicated baseball diamond available for both organized games and casual weekend play.
For fitness enthusiasts, there's a fitness trail with circuit training equipment winding through the park. Just note that some of the equipment has seen better days, but it still gets the job done for an outdoor workout.
Natural Retreat
If you're looking to clear your head, the walking paths that meander through the grounds offer an ideal setting for a peaceful stroll. The park has some nice natural features throughout the grounds.
One of the park's most charming features is the small creek cutting through the landscape, creating a scenic ravine that adds character to your walk. You might spot local wildlife along the pathway, including various birds and small critters.
Sprawling grassy areas provide ideal spots for spreading out a blanket for picnics, while strategically placed benches under shade trees offer perfect resting spots to read a book or simply watch the world go by.
Location and Amenities
Conveniently located near Acacia and St. Juliana schools, the park is just a short walk for students and nearby residents. Cal State Fullerton students also appreciate having this green space within easy reach when they need a study break or outdoor retreat.
Stay hydrated during your visit with water fountains and a water bottle refill station by the playground. While the park lacks permanent restroom facilities (definitely something to plan around), you can find plenty of picnic tables and trash cans throughout the grounds.
Parking is generally plentiful, with spaces available even during busy soccer games. The park's location just off the 57 freeway makes it an easy stop whether you're a local or just passing through looking for a pleasant spot to stretch your legs.
