Historic Grounds and Architecture

Brand Park is a historic 31-acre park nestled at the base of the Verdugo Mountains. The centerpiece of the park is the Brand Library & Art Center, housed in the former mansion of Leslie C. Brand, a prominent figure in Glendale's history.

Built in 1904, this striking building features Indo-Saracenic architecture inspired by the East Indian Pavilion from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The library now serves as a specialized art and music library, hosting art exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.

Gardens and Museums

The park grounds include several notable features, such as the Japanese Friendship Garden, which offers a serene setting with traditional Japanese landscaping, koi ponds, and a teahouse. Visitors can also explore the Doctor's House Museum, a restored Victorian-era home that provides insight into Glendale's past.
