The lake store stays open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., convenient for both early morning fishing sessions and afternoon outings.

Many locals consider this one of the best fishing spots in the High Desert region - and for good reason. There's something pretty satisfying about reeling in a hefty rainbow trout on a quiet afternoon. Need bait or forgot your tackle? The lake store sells fishing supplies that might come in handy.

Beyond the Lake

Fishing might be the star attraction, but there's plenty more to enjoy here. Scattered around the park are picnic areas complete with tables and propane barbecues - well-suited for a family lunch or gathering with friends. Kids can burn off energy at the playgrounds while you relax on the open grassy areas nearby.

Stay Awhile

If one day isn't enough (and often it isn't), the park offers 51 individual campsites for overnight stays. Each site comes equipped with the camping essentials: a fire pit and picnic table.

The campground can handle vehicles up to 40 feet long, with most sites offering electricity and water hookups - a nice comfort when you're roughing it. For those traveling with horses, there's a separate equine camping area that offers a bit more peace and quiet away from the main grounds.

In terms of facilities, there are porta-potties and showers available, but they're admittedly basic. Cleanliness can be hit or miss according to some campers. When night falls, the quiet hours begin at 10 p.m., ensuring everyone gets some decent rest.

Natural Moments

The park hosts a surprising amount of wildlife for an artificial setting.
