About Bushard Park
A Cozy Neighborhood Retreat
Tucked away in a residential corner of Huntington Beach, Bushard Park spans a modest 2.38 acres - not massive by any means, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm. This little green oasis offers a peaceful escape from the everyday hustle, fantastic for when you need a quick nature fix without venturing far from home.
No dedicated parking lot here, but don't worry - street parking wraps around all four sides of the park, so you'll rarely struggle to find a spot.
Kid-Friendly Play Spaces
The playground here splits into two distinct zones, thoughtfully designed for different age groups. For the little ones (ages 2-5), there's a simpler structure with manageable stairs and a small slide - fantastic for toddlers building their confidence. More adventurous kiddos (ages 5-12) can tackle the more challenging play equipment with its suspension design, ropes, and various climbing challenges.
One of the playground's highlights is the circular saucer swing - spacious enough for a couple of kids to enjoy together, or for one child to sprawl out completely. Just a heads-up: the playground gets pretty limited shade, so you might want to pack some sunscreen and hats during those sunny California days.
ADPrivate Helicopter Tour over Long Beach: See Catalina, Queen Mary
Cruise over downtown Long Beach and the historical Queen Mary on this private helicopter tour. You'll then soar over the port of Long Beach and Los Angeles while climbing up to get spectacular views of Catalina and the L.A.
Room to Roam
The grassy area is the real star of Bushard Park - a wide, open space that practically begs for frisbee games, picnic blankets, or just lying back to watch the clouds drift by. This versatile lawn is where you'll often spot local residents playing with their dogs or tossing a ball around.
Feeling hungry? The park offers two picnic tables for your outdoor dining needs, plus a large gazebo that provides welcome relief from the sun. A couple of benches scattered throughout offer perfect perches for people-watching or diving into a good book.
Good to Know
Note that the park doesn't have restrooms or water fountains, so you'll want to plan ahead - especially during warmer months when staying hydrated is extra important.
Dog lovers will feel right at home here, as the park is a popular spot for local pups and their humans. Two trash bins help keep the space clean and pleasant for everyone to enjoy.
