New Name, Same Great Space

In April 2024, El Dorado Park got a fresh identity as Samaritan's Purse Park, recognizing the meaningful contributions of the Samaritan's Purse organization to Lancaster. Located right beside El Dorado Elementary School, this park functions as both an extended playground for students and a green space for the neighborhood.

A Multi-Million Dollar Makeover

The park received a $8.4 million grant from California State Parks in December 2021, which funded a complete transformation of the space.

Spread across 9.4 acres, Samaritan's Purse Park offers various amenities. Whether you want to exercise or relax in the shade, the layout accommodates different activities.

Kids will love the playground equipped with swings, slides, and seesaws, while soccer enthusiasts can enjoy a kick-around in the gated concrete soccer arena - meant for containing those enthusiastic matches!

For fitness enthusiasts, there's outdoor exercise equipment available in the park (though it might be worth checking its condition before your workout). The dirt walking trails offer a nice route for a casual stroll or jog, just keep in mind they can get a bit muddy after rain.

Sports facilities include a basketball court, tennis court, baseball field, and softball field. There's also a skate park for skateboarding enthusiasts.
