Park History
C. David Molina Park is a 3.3-acre neighborhood park in Long Beach, California. The park opened on August 21, 2018, and is named after Dr. C. David Molina, a prominent figure in Long Beach's medical community.
Dr. Molina started the city's first intensive care unit at Pacific Hospital in 1962 and served as the hospital's Emergency Department Director for 21 years. He developed Long Beach's paramedic system and trained the city's first firefighters to become paramedics.
Legacy and Contribution
In 1980, Dr. Molina opened a clinic in Long Beach to serve low-income individuals and families. This clinic later grew into Molina Healthcare, a Fortune 500 multi-state health care organization.

The park shares its western border with the Dominguez Gap Wetlands Trail along the Los Angeles River, providing a connection to the natural environment.
