Tucked away in Long Beach, California, Loma Vista Park may be small in size, but it packs a surprising punch as a peaceful retreat from city life. Since opening its gates on September 24, 2005, this 0.14-acre green space has become a cherished breathing spot for locals looking to unwind.

The park came to life thanks to land provided by the Los Angeles County Sanitation District, transforming what could have been just another urban lot into a calm little haven for the community.

What You'll Find Here

Wander through Loma Vista and you'll discover a lovely lawn area, shade-giving trees, and a custom bench with artistic elements that's meant for sitting back and watching the world go by. The park got an artistic upgrade in 2007 when the Arts Council of Long Beach added a beautiful mosaic of the sun and solar system to the mix.

This eye-catching installation was created by artist Steve Elicker working alongside students from Edison Elementary School just down the road. It's visually interesting and adds a touch of educational value to your park visit.

Family-Friendly Updates

The park evolved further in 2014 with the addition of a new play structure and a rubberized tot lot surface that's easier on little knees. These thoughtful improvements have made Loma Vista much more appealing for parents with young children looking for a safe outdoor space.

While you won't find sprawling fields or extensive facilities here, what Loma Vista Park lacks in size it makes up for in character.
