Park Overview

Found in a residential pocket of Modesto, Garrison Neighborhood Park offers about three acres of green escape from the everyday hustle. This little oasis has become something of a neighborhood living room where locals gather to play, unwind, and connect with others.

The landscape strikes a nice balance between open grassy spaces excellent for throwing down a blanket and more developed areas for specific activities. If baseball's your thing, the park features a softball/youth baseball field that you can actually rent for $15 an hour (two-hour minimum). Soccer enthusiasts haven't been forgotten either - there's a soccer field available under the same rental terms.

Just note that neither field has lighting, so you'll want to plan your games and practices while the sun's still doing its job.

The basketball courts come equipped with nets and proper court markings, making them a solid spot for shooting some hoops or organizing a pickup game with friends.

For the little ones, there's a playground with age-appropriate equipment where kids can burn off energy and make new friends. The playground features slides and barrel rolls that seem to be perpetual hits with the younger crowd.

If you're looking for something a bit more leisurely, the park also offers shuffleboard courts - a surprisingly fun option that doesn't require quite as much sweat.
