Looking for a place to swing for the fences? Orchard Park has a rentable softball and youth baseball field available for $15.00 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Just keep in mind there's no lighting, so you'll want to plan your games while the sun's still up.

Soccer enthusiasts can kick it on the park's soccer field, which follows similar rental guidelines as the baseball area. If basketball is more your style, you can find two full courts ready for your next pickup game or friendly competition.

The park has an open, flexible layout. There's plenty of space to set up impromptu volleyball matches or badminton games. The mellow vibe and generous grassy areas make it great for running around with friends or simply lounging on a blanket with a good book.

Kid-Friendly Playground

The newly renovated playground is a major highlight for families. This recent upgrade included new drainage improvements, fresh equipment, concrete ADA ramps, and safety-focused wood chips replacing the old setup.

Kids particularly love the swings, which seem to be the playground's main attraction. Parts of the play area still have sand, which is great fun for little ones to dig and build in - though you might want to check shoes before heading back to the car!

Walking & Exercise Options

A well-maintained walking path circles the entire park, making it ideal for your morning stroll or afternoon exercise routine. You'll often spot locals getting their daily steps in here. The park is also great for dog walking, with ample room for your four-legged friends to explore (just remember to bring waste bags).

Practical Amenities

When nature calls, you'll find restroom facilities that are kept in decent condition. Water fountains are scattered within the grounds for when you need to hydrate.

You can claim one of the picnic tables for lunch or use the benches for a quick rest, although seating can be limited during busier times. Trash bins are conveniently placed around the park - always appreciated for keeping the space clean for everyone.

Community Connection

The playground's recent facelift was funded through the voter-approved Measure H initiative aimed at enhancing Modesto's parks. The project received 72% support from voters, with the winning design concept chosen from a total of 372 votes.

Set in a residential neighborhood with plenty of parking available, Orchard Park generally maintains a clean environment. You might occasionally spot some litter during high-traffic periods, but it's typically well-kept.
