Morrison Park
About Morrison Park
Play Ball and Beyond
The heart of Morrison Park is undoubtedly its four baseball and softball diamonds. Each field stretches 250 feet from home plate to the outfield fence and comes equipped with electronic scoreboards to keep track of the action.
Spectators can relax on bleachers with shade covers (a blessing during those hot California afternoons), while players stay cool in covered dugouts between innings. Just a heads-up though - some players have mentioned that the pitching mounds could use a little TLC.
If baseball isn't your thing, the park also features a soccer field where you can kick around a ball and burn some energy.
Picnic Paradise
When hunger strikes, head to one of the park's three picnic shelters complete with grills. Two smaller shelters sit conveniently near the restrooms, with a larger option available for bigger gatherings. Nothing beats grilling up some burgers while watching a game or enjoying the outdoors.
Take a Stroll
Need to stretch your legs? The park offers about 1,500 feet of walking paths circling the sports fields. For the more adventurous, roughly 4,000 feet of dirt trails extend just beyond the park boundaries - excellent for a more rugged walking experience.
There's also a small rocky hill that rewards climbers with sweeping views of Moreno Valley. Many locals appreciate this quiet, clean space as their go-to spot for daily exercise.
Grab a Bite
During game days, the park's snack bar fires up its grill to serve hungry spectators and players. The food gets consistently good reviews for being both tasty and easy on the wallet - a rare combination these days.
Good to Know
Morrison Park spans 14 acres in the heart of Moreno Valley, California.
You can find two parking lots off Dracaea Avenue providing 72 parking spaces in total. On busy game days, these fill up quickly, so street parking becomes the backup option - though it can get tricky during peak times.
The restroom facilities are typically clean and well-maintained, although occasionally closed for upkeep.
It's worth noting that while Morrison Park excels at sports facilities and walking opportunities, you won't find playground equipment or water features here.
The park really comes alive Thursday through Saturday evenings, especially during baseball season when the crack of bats and cheering crowds create an energetic atmosphere.
You might also spot locals walking their dogs in the open areas, although it's not officially designated as a dog park.
