2025 Renovation Project

In 2025, the park underwent significant renovations as part of a citywide mini parks beautification project. The $5 million project, funded by Caltrans' Clean California local grant program, aimed to improve and beautify nine mini parks across Oakland, including the 88th Avenue Mini Park.

The renovations addressed issues such as graffiti, vandalism, vegetation overgrowth, and litter that had previously plagued the park.

Park Amenities

The revitalized park now features resurfaced play areas, upgraded site furniture, and improved landscaping. New shade trees have been planted to provide a cooler and more comfortable environment for visitors.

The park's security has been enhanced with improved lighting, fencing, and gates. These enhancements have significantly improved the park's appearance and functionality, making it a more inviting space for community use.
