A $896,451 renovation project breathed new life into this space, addressing safety issues and making the park more accessible to everyone. A refreshed space that reflects what the community actually needed: more activities to enjoy, additional places to sit and relax, extra shade for those sunny California days, and an overall more inviting atmosphere.

Today, the park functions as a vital gathering spot in a predominantly Latino and African American neighborhood where many households earn less than $50,000 per year.

Making a Difference Where It Matters

Location matters, and Holly Mini Park's position puts valuable green space within a half-mile of nearly 12,000 residents, including 3,400 children. This accessibility adds green space to an area with historically limited park development.

The renovation represents not only physical improvements - it's part of Oakland Public Works' broader commitment to enhancing East Oakland's parks. Beyond the fresh paint and new amenities, this space provides opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and community interaction.
