Park Overview

Located in Oceanside, California, Melba Bishop Park spans a generous 16 acres of recreational space. Established back in 1974, it bears the name of former Councilmember Melba Bishop - a nice nod to local history. At the heart of the park stands the Melba Bishop Recreation Center, a 35,000-square-foot facility that aims to serve everyone in the neighborhood.

Outdoor Amenities

The park offers plenty of outdoor options for visitors. Sports facilities include baseball/softball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and pickleball courts - offering options for various game preferences.

Skateboarders haven't been forgotten either - an 8,000-square-foot skatepark opened in 2008 offers a street course style that local riders seem to enjoy.

Planning a get-together? The park's barbecue areas and picnic facilities make for perfect gathering spots. And if you're bringing the little ones along, they'll likely make a beeline for the playground equipment.
