Tucked beside Oxnard College lies College Park, a 75-acre stretch of green space that many locals enjoy. Oxnard College borders the park to the south, while Channel Islands High School lies just to the west, across South Rose Avenue. This expansive space offers plenty of room to breathe, play, and connect with others.

Get Your Game On

If you're into sports, you'll discover your happy place here. The Oxnard Skate Park is popular with skateboard enthusiasts, with smooth surfaces and varied features suitable for different skill levels.

Weekends see the soccer fields filled with matches drawing both players and spectators. Not a soccer fan? No problem - shoot some hoops at the basketball courts or spike a ball over the net at the volleyball courts. Impromptu games often form, so don't be shy about joining in.

Take a Breather

For those days when you're craving something more low-key, the park's walking trails offer a great escape. The main loop stretches just over half a mile - ideal for a quick morning jog or a thoughtful evening stroll. The park also has facilities for cross country running, making it a useful training ground for runners looking for something beyond a standard loop.

The wide, open grassy areas are great for picnic blankets and frisbees. When Saturday and Sunday roll around, you'll spot families spreading out across the lawn, unpacking coolers and setting up lawn games.

Bring Your Four-Legged Friends

Rudy's Dog Park gives your furry companions their own designated playground within College Park. This fenced area allows dogs to run leash-free and make some new friends of their own. Just remember to grab those doggie bags - keeping the park clean ensures everyone can enjoy it.

You'll find picnic areas scattered across the grounds, fantastic for anything from birthday celebrations to casual lunch meetups. No need to cut your visit short when nature calls - restroom facilities are conveniently located around the park.

Strawberry Meadows

A section of the park known as Strawberry Meadows carries its own bit of local history. From 1991 through 2019, it hosted the California Strawberry Festival, a major annual event that drew crowds to the park for nearly three decades before COVID-19 forced a pause. When the festival returned, it had relocated permanently to the Ventura County Fairgrounds, leaving Strawberry Meadows without its signature event - though the name lives on.
