Historic War Memorial Building

At the heart of the park stands the War Memorial Building, a remarkable structure dating back to 1921 that the city has rightfully recognized as a cultural heritage landmark.

The two-story, 12,000-square-foot building has an interesting origin story - it was built on what was formerly known as Oak Lawn Park, funded through a combination of city bonds and generous donations from the American Legion.
