About Victory Park
Recreational Facilities
Victory Park stretches across 24.6 acres at 2575 Paloma Street in Pasadena, California. It offers activities for a wide range of interests, whether you're a sports enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful afternoon outdoors.
Sports lovers will feel right at home here with three softball diamonds that come complete with bleachers and lighting for those evening games. There's also a lit baseball diamond for the more traditional ball game fans. If soccer or flag football is more your speed, the park offers a multi-purpose lit field for team sports, and there's also a sand volleyball court for beach-sport enthusiasts.
The park's wide-open, flat layout makes it ideal for various athletic activities, and it's no surprise that AYSO soccer games take over the fields most weekends. If indoor sports are your thing, you'll come across a basketball court tucked inside the recreation center.
Family-Friendly Amenities
Got kids? The large playground area is a hit with families, offering a safe space where little ones can burn off energy. We appreciate how they've thoughtfully divided the playground into separate sections for different age groups, so both toddlers and older children can play appropriately.
When lunchtime rolls around, you can take your pick from multiple picnic areas, including several covered picnic shelters that provide welcome shade on those sunny California days. Just remember that you won't find fire pits here for grilling.
One of our favorite aspects of Victory Park is the stunning backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains, which creates a serene atmosphere despite being in the city. Fair warning though - the park's proximity to the mountains can sometimes bring some pretty impressive windstorms!
Recreation Center
The Victory Park Recreation Center contains a small meeting room with a kitchen, a social recreational room, all-purpose meeting rooms, and a large gymnasium where various events take place.
The center offers diverse programming. From seasonal camps and dance classes to after-school programs and senior fitness classes, there's truly something for every age group. It's particularly valuable for families with children, offering regular activities that help kids stay active and engaged.
Visitor Information
Practical matters: Victory Park offers a large parking lot, however you might want to arrive early on weekends or during sports events when spaces fill up quickly. The clean restroom facilities have been updated in recent years and are conveniently located near the playground and across the grounds.
Dog owners, you're in luck - the park is dog-friendly, with plenty of open fields ideal for walking your furry friends or playing fetch. Just be mindful of your pets, especially during busy weekend hours when there are lots of children around.
The park welcomes visitors daily from 6AM to 10PM. If you're looking for a quieter experience, try coming around 7-8AM when the crowds are thinner and the morning light casts a beautiful glow across the grounds.
Special Events
Victory Park occasionally becomes a gathering place for special events and community services. Perhaps its most famous claim to fame is its connection to the annual Rose Parade - after the parade ends, you can sometimes find the beautifully decorated floats displayed nearby for public viewing, which adds a touch of magic to an already lovely park.
