About Heritage Community Park
Park Overview
Nestled in Rancho Cucamonga, Heritage Community Park is a sprawling 41.2-acre green haven that's become a local favorite. With the majestic Cucamonga Peak creating a stunning backdrop, this park combines natural beauty with thoughtful amenities.
The meticulously maintained grounds feature lush lawns and plenty of shade trees, creating a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's the kind of place where you can spread out a blanket, take a deep breath, and actually feel your stress levels dropping.
Trails and Pathways
If you're looking to get your steps in, Heritage won't disappoint. The park has a network of well-maintained paths that wind through scenic areas, ideal for your morning jog or evening stroll.
Planning an event? Make a reservation at this park
The 0.7-mile route is particularly popular, offering a pleasant experience without being too demanding. For the more adventurous, these trails connect to the larger Cucamonga Creek Trail system, with fitness stations scattered along the way for those looking to mix up their workout routine.
Some sections are a bit sandy, but they reward you with breathtaking views that make the extra effort worthwhile. Cyclists and horseback riders have their own designated trails too.
Thanks to recent lighting upgrades, evening walks are now both safer and more atmospheric - excellent for those summer nights when the day's heat finally breaks.
Recreational Facilities
Heritage has plenty to offer for sports enthusiasts. The park features several baseball fields with lighting for those twilight games, plus basketball courts (two half courts) when you're in the mood to shoot some hoops.
Own a local business? Promote it right here
Planning a gathering? The park offers numerous picnic sites throughout the grounds. There are two gazebos with ample seating for larger groups, plus several smaller covered areas near the playground that you can snag on a first-come basis.
For bigger celebrations, the larger picnic areas can be reserved through the city - just plan ahead, especially during peak seasons.
Playground Areas
The little ones won't run out of energy here anytime soon. Heritage features multiple playground areas designed with different age groups in mind, so everyone from toddlers to pre-teens can find their happy place.

Keep an eye out for the charming bear statues that add a touch of whimsy to the play areas. While the equipment is great, on particularly sunny days, some areas could use a bit more shade - so don't forget the sunscreen and hats.
Accessibility and Amenities
Heritage Park features wheelchair-friendly paths within the grounds, making the area accessible to more visitors.
When nature calls, you'll discover clean restroom facilities that are well-maintained - they're located near the ball fields, however it can be a bit of a trek from the playgrounds. You'll also find drinking fountains scattered throughout and grilling areas for cooking up some outdoor classics, but the BBQ pits aren't exactly state-of-the-art.
Bringing your four-legged friend? No problem. The park welcomes leashed dogs, with convenient doggie-bag dispensers placed strategically throughout - because being a good neighbor means cleaning up after your pup.
Equestrian Center
One of Heritage's unique charms is its equestrian center, where you might catch glimpses of horses during your visit. It's a delightful surprise that never fails to excite children and adults alike - there's something magical about seeing these magnificent animals in a park setting.
Parking Information
The park provides parking, but it's worth noting that during baseball season or special events, spots can fill up quickly. If you're visiting during peak times, consider arriving early or be prepared for a short walk from street parking outside the gates.
A minor inconvenience for an otherwise wonderful park experience.

I have always loved Heritage park and have been a visitor of it for years! My now adult children also have played sports on its fields. I am so saddened that the beautiful grassy areas are now being used as parking lots for obnoxious golf carts! Why is there no designated parking for them? For years parents have had to park and walk to the fields their children play on-now many are tearing up the grounds with their golf carts because they are too lazy to walk! This causes more work for the grounds keepers as well as more of our tax payers money to maintain the park. It’s also a safety hazard-very young and elderly people can be backed into or trip on one of the many divots caused by the wheels and weight. They also seem to go hand-in-hand with the e-bikes that are being driven thru out the park. I know the people of Alta Loma are proud of their golf carts and it’s obvious the bigger they are the more status they seem to think they have. That being said-there needs to be designated areas for them to park, before there is a preventable injury that could cost the city big dollars. And our tax dollars can be better spent improving the park rather than repairing.
