Andreson Park
About Andreson Park
Recreation Spot Overview
Andreson Park is a cozy 5-acre green space nestled in Rialto, California. This local favorite offers something for everyone, from fitness enthusiasts to families with kids (and dogs!).
One of the park's highlights is its 1/4 mile walking path that circles the entire area. The path recently got an upgrade with a blue cushioned surface that's gentler on your joints - a nice touch if you're into jogging or just prefer a more comfortable stroll.
For the Fur Babies
If you've got a four-legged friend, you'll appreciate the dedicated dog area at the back of the park. It's thoughtfully divided into two sections: one for the big pups and another for smaller dogs under 30 pounds.
This isn't your average dog run, either. The area comes equipped with fun obstacles including tires, a pirate ship (yes, really!), tubes, stairs, and ramps - basically a doggy playground where your pet can burn off energy and make some new friends.
There's a water fountain that both you and your dog can use, but you'll want to bring your own toys, treats, and waste bags. The grassy areas and picnic table make it comfortable to hang out while your dog explores.
Kid-Friendly Zone
The children's playground is well-equipped with all the essentials: slides, a rock climbing wall, a swirly fireman pole, ladders, a bridge, and stairs. Little ones can enjoy both regular swings and bucket swings that offer more support for younger children.
Safety was clearly a consideration here - the play area is covered with wood chips and conveniently located near both the parking lot and restrooms. It's been updated in recent years, so the equipment is in good shape.
Sports and Activities
If basketball is your thing, you can find a full-length court plus an additional half-court in a shaded area - great for those hot California days. For something a bit more old-school, check out the horseshoe toss areas complete with sand pits.
The park's center features plenty of green space that's great for casual games of soccer or football, although be aware that trees might limit space for larger games. Still, there's plenty of room for throwing a frisbee or having a family game day.
Get Your Workout In
Near the parking lot, you can find an exercise station with pull-up bars, push-up bars, parallel bars for gymnastics, and benches. The equipment works fine, but it might be showing some signs of age with a bit of rust here and there.
Picnic Possibilities
Planning a gathering? The park offers three large picnic shelters that you can reserve for a fee - well-suited for birthday parties, family reunions, or community events.
There are also several individual picnic tables scattered around the grounds, but you might want to arrive early to snag one with shade on sunny days.
Practical Matters
The public restrooms are clean and well-maintained, with separate facilities for men and women. They're part of the park's regular maintenance routine, which happens weekly or bi-weekly.
Parking is available in a dedicated lot along South Lilac Avenue, however it can fill up during busy times. If you can't find a spot, there's street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.
The Overall Vibe
What you'll find at Andreson Park is a clean, peaceful neighborhood space that's clearly cared for. The maintenance team keeps things in good shape, and security cameras plus bright LED lighting add an extra layer of safety for evening visits.
The park welcomes visitors daily from 5 AM to 10 PM, offering Rialto residents a pleasant retreat for outdoor activities year-round - regardless of whether you're walking the dog, playing with the kids, or just looking for a quiet spot to enjoy some fresh air.
