Spanning about 3.4 acres, Flores Park offers a peaceful green escape within this Rialto neighborhood. Developed sometime between the 70s and 90s, it's nestled among single-family homes with an elementary school right next door.

The 1/4 mile walking track is popular with locals getting their steps in, jogging at dawn, or walking their four-legged friends. If you're looking to shoot some hoops, the basketball court is ideal for pickup games or just practicing your jump shot.

Kids have their own space too, with a children's playground that provides plenty of opportunities for little ones to burn off energy. Though the equipment does the job, it's not the newest around - a refresh would be welcome at some point.

The picnic areas make this a natural gathering spot for family lunches and weekend get-togethers. We especially love the large trees scattered throughout that cast cooling shade even during those hot California afternoons. There are restrooms available (always a plus when spending a few hours outdoors), however they could sometimes use a bit more attention from maintenance staff.

Planning a gathering? The City of Rialto runs a shelter rental program here that's pretty straightforward. You can reserve picnic shelters for birthday celebrations, family BBQs, or other get-togethers between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. It'll cost you $66.40 per day (including processing fees), plus a $100 cleaning deposit that you'll get back when you leave things tidy.

During summer, one of the park's highlights is the outdoor movie screenings that bring neighbors together under the stars. These free events draw crowds and provide a nice opportunity for neighbors to connect with each other.
