About the Location

A Place of Remembrance

Ryan Bonaminio Park spans 38 acres in the heart of Riverside, California. Named after Riverside Police Officer Ryan Bonaminio, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty in 2010, this neighborhood park stands as a living memorial to his service and sacrifice.

Get Your Game On

Need to stretch your legs or burn some energy? The park offers plenty of recreational options. The expansive grassy areas are meant for throwing down a blanket and enjoying the California sunshine.

Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the variety of facilities, including well-maintained baseball fields, basketball courts, and soccer fields where local teams regularly practice and compete. No matter if you're joining a pickup game or organizing your own match, there's space for everyone to play.

Kid-Approved Fun

If you've got little ones in tow, you'll discover two large playgrounds that are sure to keep them entertained. The thoughtfully designed play areas feature age-appropriate equipment - slides, swings, and climbing structures that cater separately to toddlers and older children.

When hunger strikes, head to one of the picnic areas scattered throughout the grounds. Some offer welcome shade while others let you soak up the sun. Early birds can snag one of the limited barbecue grills that operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Paths for Every Pace

The park features 1.7 miles of concrete and dirt sidewalks that meander through the grounds. Fitness trackers at the ready - the popular one-mile loop circling the park features distance markers to help you track your progress. Strategically placed benches and picnic tables offer perfect rest stops to catch your breath and take in the scenery.

For those looking to extend their adventure, the park provides convenient access to the Santa Ana River Trail and sits near the entrance to Mount Rubidoux, making it a favorite starting point for hikers exploring the area.

A Green Oasis

Tucked within the park lies a charming community garden where you can wander among various labeled plants. It's a peaceful spot to learn about local flora or simply enjoy a moment of tranquility away from the more active areas.

The Practical Stuff

Clean restrooms are available throughout the day, but you might want to tuck some toilet paper in your bag as supplies can dwindle during busy times.

Getting There

You'll come across ample parking in the lot off Tequesquite Avenue, which offers over 250 spaces including 15 handicapped spots. This free lot provides easy access not just to the park but also to Mount Rubidoux. If the main lot fills up, additional street parking is available along Palm Avenue.
