Notable Namesakes
The park is named after Gilbert A. and Helen K. Duran, who made significant contributions to the Roseville community. Gilbert served as a Roseville City School District teacher and later on the Roseville City Council and school board.
He also established an antipoverty program that spread to surrounding cities. Helen was a teacher for the Roseville City School District for over 30 years and later served on the school board.
She was known for creating scholarship programs for high school students.
