Crocker Park

A Downtown Green Retreat

Right next door to the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, Crocker Park spans a modest 2.37 acres and feels like the museum's outdoor extension - which, historically speaking, it actually is! It's a refreshing pause from the urban hustle that fits naturally into its cultural surroundings.

Art's Backyard

The park wasn't just randomly placed beside the museum - it was intentionally developed as part of the museum complex. As you wander through, you'll notice artistic touches and sculptures scattered among the greenery, a subtle nod to its cultural neighbor.

What to Expect

If you're craving a moment of peace in downtown Sacramento, this is a good place to find it. The well-kept lawns are ideal for sprawling out with a book or having an impromptu picnic. The large beautiful trees create these wonderful pockets of shade that make even summer days bearable.

What's nice about Crocker Park is how central it is - you can easily incorporate it into a day of exploring Sacramento's cultural district without going out of your way.

What You'll Find

You'll spot two picnic tables around the grounds - not a ton, but enough to claim a proper dining spot if you bring lunch along. The open grassy areas are a hit with the dog-owner crowd, so expect to see some happy pups running around.

If you happen to visit on a Sunday, you're in for a treat. There's something about that end-of-weekend energy that brings people together here, creating a particularly lively yet relaxed vibe.
