About the Location
Park Overview
Tucked behind Albert Einstein Middle School, Rosemont Community Park spreads across 17 acres of Sacramento greenspace. This local escape, maintained by the Cordova Recreation and Park District, offers something for just about everyone with its clean grounds and winding paved pathways well-suited for a morning jog or afternoon stroll.
Natural Features
The park's butterfly garden adds a splash of color and tranquility you won't find at your average neighborhood park. It's a little pocket of natural beauty that doubles as a living classroom for anyone curious about local plants and the winged visitors they attract.
Sprawling grass areas give you plenty of room to throw a frisbee, set up a picnic, or just lie back and cloud-watch. The mix of sunny spots and shaded retreats makes it easy to find your perfect outdoor nook, whether you're seeking sunshine or escaping it.
Recreational Amenities
Come weekend time, the multiple picnic areas with tables become social hubs for family gatherings and community meetups. Scattered across the park, you'll discover several BBQ areas nestled in shady spots - well-suited for those summer cookouts when your backyard just won't cut it.
Sports enthusiasts have plenty of options here. The park houses two baseball fields where local leagues often play, plus a soccer field that sees its fair share of action throughout the season.
The recently spruced-up sports court area is a real highlight, featuring tennis courts, two dedicated pickleball courts (for all you pickleball converts), and a basketball court with lights for those evening games. The whole sports complex is nicely contained within 10-foot chain-link fencing.
Family-Friendly Features
Kids have their own glimpse of paradise with two separate playground areas featuring modern equipment. Parents of toddlers will appreciate that one playground is specifically designed with smaller children in mind - fewer worries about your little one navigating equipment meant for bigger kids.
During the year, the park transforms into a community gathering spot hosting various events. The food truck meetups are particularly popular, bringing neighbors together over good eats and conversation.
Facilities
You can find public restrooms housed in a cinderblock building near the parking lot entrance - a basic but essential amenity that's cleaned daily.
Parking is limited to a small, shaded circular lot off Americana Way with just a handful of handicap spots. Most visitors end up parking on the surrounding residential streets, so you might need to walk a bit if you come during busy hours.
Dog-Friendly Environment
While not specifically a dog park, your leashed four-legged friends are welcome here. It's a popular spot for morning and evening dog walks - just remember to bring bags and clean up after your pup.
Park Hours
The park welcomes visitors daily from 6 AM to 9 PM, giving you plenty of daylight (and some evening) hours to enjoy all it has to offer.
