Discovery Park is a sprawling 302-acre urban oasis located at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers in Sacramento, California. Serving as a gateway to the American River Parkway, this expansive park offers visitors a diverse range of recreational opportunities and natural experiences.

Water Recreation

Discovery Park houses one of Sacramento County's premier boat launches, with a six-lane ramp and floating docks that allow boaters to explore both rivers.

For land-based recreation, Discovery Park offers numerous trails suitable for hiking, jogging, and cycling. The park serves as the starting point for the 32-mile Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail, which extends eastward to Folsom Lake.
