Historic Origins
William Land Park was established in the 1920s, following a bequest from William Land, a prominent Sacramento hotelier who donated $250,000 for the purchase of a public park. Land's vision was to create a recreation spot for children and a pleasure ground for the less fortunate, a purpose that the park continues to fulfill today.

Park Overview
Spanning 207.34 developed acres, this expansive green space is situated between Interstate 5 and State Route 160, serving as a central recreational area for Sacramento residents and visitors alike.
Often referred to simply as "Land Park" by locals, it has become one of the most beloved public spaces in the city.

The park is home to several popular destinations, including the Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town (a storybook-themed playground), and Funderland Amusement Park. These attractions make the park a particularly appealing destination for families with children.
