In September 2023, the City of San Diego initiated a $7.6 million improvement project for Jerabek Park. The planned improvements include the addition of two children's play areas, installation of fitness equipment, construction of a new restroom and concession stand, and the creation of a picnic shelter. The project also focuses on improving ADA accessibility throughout the park, including new sidewalks and bleachers that are accessible to all users.

This park serves as a central gathering place for the Scripps Ranch community, hosting various events throughout the year, including the annual Scripps Ranch holiday party. The ongoing improvements are expected to be completed in the summer of 2024, further enhancing the park's role as a vital community asset.
