About the Location
Elevated Urban Oasis
Salesforce Park is a unique 5.4-acre public rooftop park located atop the Salesforce Transit Center in downtown San Francisco, California. Stretching nearly four city blocks, this elevated urban oasis opened in August 2018 and has quickly become a popular destination for both locals and visitors.

Botanical Diversity
The park features a diverse array of plant life, including 600 trees and 16,000 plants arranged in 13 different botanical feature areas. These gardens showcase flora adapted to the Bay Area's specific climate, offering visitors a glimpse into various ecosystems.
A curved walking trail spanning approximately half a mile encircles the park's perimeter, allowing visitors to explore the different botanical zones while enjoying views of the surrounding cityscape.

Architectural Highlights
At the heart of Salesforce Park lies a central plaza with an oculus surrounded by a bamboo grove. This area also boasts the largest exterior walkable glass floor in the United States, providing a unique perspective of the transit center below.
The park's design incorporates both active and passive spaces, catering to a wide range of visitors and activities.

Interactive Features
One of the park's most distinctive features is the "Bus Fountain," an interactive public art installation created by local artist Ned Kahn. This 1,200-foot-long fountain uses sensors to detect buses passing through the transit center below, triggering water jets to create a dynamic and ever-changing display.

Community Hub
Salesforce Park serves as more than just a green space; it's also a community hub offering various programmed activities and events throughout the year. These include fitness classes, educational programs, and cultural performances, making the park a vibrant part of San Francisco's urban fabric.

Park Access
Access to the park is available via several means, including elevators, escalators, and stairs from the street level. Perhaps the most unique entry point is the free gondola ride from Salesforce Plaza, offering visitors a scenic ascent to this elevated garden.
