A Tucked-Away Park Behind the Library

Located behind the Evergreen Library in San Jose, Aborn Park is small but pleasant. This little green space provides a nice spot to relax - convenient for when you need a break after browsing books or want to spend some time outdoors.

Kid-Friendly Fun

Kids will enjoy the colorful playground with its pirate ship-themed play structure. The playground's soft flooring means fewer scraped knees, and the newer equipment is well-kept and inviting.

Those California sun rays won't be a problem thanks to thoughtfully placed shade trees throughout the play area. Just keep in mind that the playground isn't completely fenced in, so you'll want to keep an eye on particularly adventurous explorers.

Take a Breather

One of our favorite things about Aborn Park is its peaceful walking trail. It's nothing fancy, but sometimes all you need is a simple path to clear your head or get in some light exercise while surrounded by greenery.

Feeling hungry? Grab a spot at one of the picnic tables scattered throughout the park. They're ideal for everything from impromptu lunches to planned family gatherings.

While Aborn Park won't overwhelm you with its size, its thoughtful layout makes excellent use of the space available. Everything feels accessible and well-placed.

You can find parking conveniently available, and the park's location right by the Evergreen Library means you can easily combine outdoor recreation with a visit to pick up your next great read.

Aborn Park functions as both a recreational area and a neighborhood meeting place.

The City of San José occasionally hosts free events here focused on health resources, physical activities, and bringing neighbors together, like their Viva Parks series. It's these community touches that help transform a simple green space into something more meaningful.
