Cahill Park

History

Cahill Park dates back to 2003 when it was deeded to the city of San Jose. It is named after Hiram B. Cahill, who originally owned the land where the park and nearby Diridon Station (formerly Cahill Depot) now stand.

Hiram's widow, Mary Welch Cahill, eventually sold the land to Southern Pacific Railroad with the request that the station they erect be named in his memory.

Park Features

This 3.7-acre public park offers various recreational facilities for visitors of different age groups. The park features playground equipment suitable for children aged 2-5 and 5-12, providing a safe and enjoyable space for young visitors.

For sports enthusiasts, there is a half basketball court available. The park's layout includes a grassy field, making it suitable for picnics and informal sports activities.

Cahill Park is located in the St. Leo's neighborhood of The Alameda district in San Jose, California. Situated immediately west of Diridon Station in Downtown San Jose, the park provides a green space for local residents and visitors.
