One of the park's notable features is its sand-filled rock area, which allows children to jump from log to boulder, providing a more natural play environment. The playground equipment includes a multi-seat spinner, a log seesaw, and a balance beam.

It's worth noting that Nome Park has faced challenges in recent years. In November 2021, the park was the site of a shooting incident that affected six teenagers, prompting increased community attention and safety measures.
