About the Location
Park Overview
Nestled in Aurora, Colorado, Seven Hills Park spans 7 acres of community space that locals have been enjoying for over three decades. This neighborhood location sits right next to Arrowhead Elementary School in the southeastern part of the city, offering a peaceful retreat for anyone looking to spend some quality time outdoors.
Recreational Facilities
Sports enthusiasts will find two baseball fields with dirt infields where you can practice your swing or catch a neighborhood game. There's plenty of space designated for soccer matches and youth football practice too. The park also features two inline hockey rinks for skating enthusiasts.
There's also a pickleball court available, but heads up - it has seen better days with some cracks in the surface. If basketball is more your style, you'll come across a small basketball court near the school grounds to shoot some hoops.
Playground and Picnic Areas
Kids can burn off energy at the playground area, which is quite spacious and a hit with children of all ages. The adjacent school grounds offer an additional play zone with separate sections for the little ones and older kids.
While you won't find formal picnic shelters here, the sprawling grassy areas make perfect spots to throw down a blanket and enjoy an impromptu picnic - sometimes those are the best kind anyway.
Natural Features
One of our favorite aspects of Seven Hills has to be the creekside trail. It's well-maintained and meant for a peaceful nature walk where you can take in the local plants and wildlife. You'll often spot neighbors walking their dogs along these paths.
The park's open grassy areas are beautifully kept and ideal for tossing a frisbee or simply lounging with a good book. When winter rolls around and snow blankets the ground, the park's hills transform into excellent sledding spots - hence the park's fitting name!
Community Connection
Seven Hills is part of Aurora's network of parks and open spaces throughout the city.
Situated in a residential area, the park is a natural gathering place for the community. It's easily accessible for nearby residents, but you should note that parking is limited to street spots, and there aren't any public restrooms within the park grounds.
Dog-Friendly Environment
Dog parents will appreciate that Seven Hills welcomes four-legged friends, however they must stay leashed. The generous open spaces and walking trails provide plenty of room for you and your furry companion to stretch your legs and enjoy some fresh air together.
