About the Location
History and Origins
Back in 1948, a passionate Boulder High School botany teacher named Maud Reed established this little green haven. She named it after Darwin M. Andrews, a local plant expert with quite the green thumb.
Fast forward to 1989, when the City of Boulder's Parks and Recreation Department took over the arboretum's care. Today, the Forestry Division keeps this natural treasure thriving.
Location and Size
Found in Boulder's bustling heart, Andrews Arboretum offers a peaceful escape from city life. You can find this tranquil spot on the east side of Broadway between Grandview and Marine Streets. Though small - just 32,000 square feet (about 0.73 acres) - it packs a lot of natural beauty into its compact footprint.
Heads up: parking nearby can be tricky since most spots around here require University permits. You might want to consider biking, walking, or public transit when planning your visit.
