About the Location
Park Overview
Tucked away in Coral Springs, Florida, Eagle Ridge Park is a cozy 3-acre green space that is the backyard playground for the Westchester community. This quiet place, established alongside the single-family home development in 1975, is used by Westchester residents as well as people from the Eagle Trace and Eagle Glen neighborhoods who often walk over. You'll find it nestled behind the Cypress Run Townhomes, providing a nice escape from the everyday.
The park offers plenty of open play areas where you can toss a frisbee, kick a soccer ball around, or simply sprawl out with a good book. It's designed with the nearby residents in mind, so while it's wonderfully convenient, just keep in mind there aren't any restrooms available.
Park Layout
What makes Eagle Ridge unique is how it's split by a road into two distinct sections. On one side, you'll discover a tranquil open space dotted with trees and a canal where you might spot locals trying their luck at fishing. Cross the street to find the main section with parking and most of the recreational goodies.
This primary area is where all the action happens - shoot some hoops at the basketball court, serve up a match at the tennis courts, or watch the kids climb and swing at the playground. The playground isn't huge and doesn't have a dedicated shade structure, but the surrounding trees cast enough natural shade to keep things cool on sunny Florida days.
When it's time to take a breather or gather with friends, you can claim one of the benches or picnic tables. Planning to stay longer? The grills are fantastic for cooking up an impromptu outdoor feast. Being right in the heart of a residential area means it's just a short walk for many locals.
History
Eagle Ridge Park officially opened its gates on March 18, 1991, during a special dual celebration that also marked the groundbreaking of Whispering Oaks Park.
This milestone represented Coral Springs' growing commitment to creating green spaces throughout the city, ensuring residents had places to play, relax, and connect with nature as the community expanded.
Visitor Information
Eagle Ridge Park offers a quiet setting away from the busier parts of the city. Nature lovers, just come prepared - depending on the season, mosquitoes might be looking to join your park adventure.
Note that the park has a no-dogs policy, keeping the play areas reserved for human recreation only.
