About the Location
Park Overview
Located in the heart of Coral Springs, Florida, Forest Hills Park spans 7 acres of green space that represents a cherished recreational spot for locals. You'll discover this neighborhood favorite situated at the corner of Royal Palm Boulevard and Riverside Drive, just across from Somerset Academy in the Forest Hills area.
There's a bit of local pride here too - the surrounding neighborhood received national recognition from Neighborhoods USA back in 1999 for its impressive revitalization efforts, funded through a combination of grants and community fundraising.
Sports Facilities
If you're looking to get active, Forest Hills offers a nice variety of options. The baseball and softball fields are well-kept and well-suited for both organized games and those impromptu family practice sessions when you're teaching the kids how to throw a curveball.
Got a tennis racket gathering dust? The park's tennis court is waiting for you. More of a volleyball person? The sand volleyball court offers a great spot to bump, set, and spike without having to trek to the beach.
The basketball court rounds out the sports offerings, providing a place for everything from casual shootarounds to more competitive pickup games.
Family Amenities
Kids will make a beeline for the playground area - it's not the biggest around, but it's a safe space where they can burn off energy and make new friends. There's a small shade cover too, which is a blessing during those scorching Florida afternoons.
When hunger strikes, you can settle in at one of the pavilions and tables scattered within the park. Planning to make a day of it? The grills are great for cooking up a family barbecue. During sporting events, the concession stands near the athletic fields save you from having to pack your own snacks.
Visitor Information
No need to cut your visit short due to nature calling - the park has restroom facilities that are kept clean and in good working order.
Four-legged family members are welcome here too, making it a popular spot for dog owners to get some fresh air with their pets.
The park operates from 8AM to 10:30PM Monday through Saturday, and 8AM to 10PM on Sunday, with lights turning off at 10:15 PM. Note that on holidays, the park closes at sunset, so plan accordingly.
Community Use
Beyond casual recreation, Forest Hills Park hosts organized activities like kickball leagues that bring neighbors together.
One of the nicest things about this park is its generally peaceful atmosphere. People tend to be respectful of each other's space and activities, creating a pleasant environment where everyone can enjoy their touch of the outdoors in their own way.
