The LOOP Experience

Las Olas Oceanside Park - affectionately known as The LOOP - is part of Fort Lauderdale's $65 million four-park system, sitting at 3000 E. Las Olas Boulevard along the city's coastline. With the Atlantic's blue expanse as its backdrop, the park blends thoughtfully designed landscaping with practical amenities, creating spaces where you can breathe a little deeper and move a little slower.

Beach Access & Layout

The beach is literally just across the street - making this an excellent home base for a day of sun and sand. The park's layout accommodates both larger gatherings and quieter solo visits.

On hot Florida days, the interactive water feature and splash pad becomes kid central, with little ones darting through cool sprays of water while parents look on. Around this water playground, a generous turf area gives energetic children plenty of room to burn off steam safely.

Need a moment of calm? The park offers plenty of seating options, including some shaded spots beneath swaying palm trees where you can escape the sun's intensity. Find yourself a bench with an ocean view, feel the salt-tinged breeze on your skin, and you've discovered one of Fort Lauderdale's most peaceful moments.

Community Events & Markets

The park is particularly active during its community gatherings. The star attraction is undoubtedly the weekly farmers market that unfolds every Saturday from 9am to 4pm. Here you'll find everything from organic produce and artisanal cheeses to handcrafted jewelry and unique clothing, all accompanied by the sounds of local musicians.

During the year, the park hosts an impressive rotation of activities - morning yoga sessions for the wellness-minded, evening concerts for music lovers, and seasonal festivals that bring the community together. The holiday transformations are particularly special, from twinkling Christmas lights and a pop-up skating rink in winter to vibrant Fourth of July celebrations and colorful Caribbean festivals when summer rolls around.

Amenities & Surroundings

Practical matters are well-handled with public restrooms available on-site (though like many beach facilities, cleanliness can vary throughout the day). Your four-legged friends are welcome too, as the park is dog-friendly as long as they remain leashed.

One of The LOOP's greatest strengths is its location. After you've had your fill of park time, you're just steps away from a variety of beachfront restaurants, bars, and shops. Grab an ice cream cone and continue your stroll along the waterfront, or settle in for a proper meal at one of the many nearby dining options.

A word about parking: while available in the vicinity, it comes at a premium, especially during busy periods when rates can climb to $33-44 for a few hours. You might want to consider rideshare options or public transportation if budget is a concern.
