Park Overview

Amelia Earhart Park is a 515-acre urban park located in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, just north of Hialeah, Florida. The park was established in 1980 and named after the famous aviator Amelia Earhart, who took her last flight from Miami in 1937.

Water Activities

The park features five lakes, making it one of the largest water-based resources in the county. The centerpiece is a 90-acre freshwater lake equipped with cables for wakeboarding and water skiing.

The Miami Watersports Complex within the park offers lessons and rentals for various water activities.

Land Recreation

For land-based recreation, the park has 8 miles of mountain bike trails catering to beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders. There is also an 18-hole disc golf course and soccer fields.

Families can enjoy the Bill Graham Farm Village, which includes a petting zoo, pony rides, and a replica farm to teach children about Miami-Dade's agricultural past.

Amenities

The park includes a 5-acre fenced dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. There are also picnic shelters, playgrounds, and fishing piers throughout the grounds.

On weekends and holidays, there is a small fee for parking, but admission to the park itself is free.
