About the Location
A Piece of Local History
Found in Hialeah, O'Quinn Park may be just 1.5 acres, but it offers several recreational options. Named after Leon H. O'Quinn, who served as Mayor of Hialeah from 1935 to 1937, this little park carries a piece of the city's history with it.
Ahead of the Curve
What makes O'Quinn Park stand out? It was the first recreational spot in Hialeah to feature a virtual fitness center inside its recreation building. Pretty cool, right? This addition uses video game platforms to get people moving and playing - an interesting approach to fitness.
The park got a major facelift in 2014 with help from Miami-Dade County, breathing new life into this community space.
For the Sports Enthusiasts
If you're into sports, you'll find plenty to love here. Young baseball players (12 and under) can practice their swings and throws on the dedicated baseball field. Basketball more your thing? Two lighted courts mean the game doesn't have to end when the sun goes down.
Tennis players haven't been forgotten either, with two lighted tennis courts available. And if racquetball is your jam, you'll appreciate the two racquetball courts waiting for some action.
Something for Everyone
Families will appreciate the playground area where kids can climb, slide, and burn off some energy in a safe environment. For those seeking a more laid-back experience, the walking path offers a fantastic setting for a peaceful stroll or some light exercise.
The recreation center is at the center of the park. This multi-purpose building hosts various activities and programs throughout the year.
