A Slice of Miami History

Established back in 1909, Lummus Park stands as one of Miami's oldest green spaces. This 5.9-acre park sits in the Lummus Park Historic District of Miami, just west of Downtown, hugging the eastern bank of the Miami River and roughly framed by NW 3rd Street to the north and NW 2nd Street to the south, with NW 3rd Court acting as a buffer between the park and Interstate 95.

Preserved Pieces of the Past

The western edge of the park hosts two historic buildings that found their second life here: the charming William Wagner House from 1857 and a sturdy limestone structure from Fort Dallas dating all the way back to 1836. Together with other historic structures along the northern boundary, these preserved buildings helped the area earn its spot on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006 - a pretty impressive achievement for a city park!

Prime Real Estate

Lummus Park sits between the beach and Ocean Drive, creating a green buffer that stretches along the length of Ocean Drive in South Beach. This isn't just aesthetically pleasing - it actually helps prevent flooding in the area, making it as practical as it is pretty.

The park has well-maintained green spaces with shade provided by palm trees and tropical vegetation. Paved paths meander through the grounds, ideal for a morning jog, a leisurely stroll, or cruising through on your bike or rollerblades.

The park is right next to Miami Beach, with white sandy shores and turquoise waters just steps away. From the park, you can enjoy picture-worthy views of Fisher Island and cruise ships majestically departing from the Port of Miami.
