About the Location
A 275-Acre Urban Oasis
Situated in the heart of bustling Miami, Florida, Tropical Park sprawls across 275 acres of refreshing green space. What once hosted thundering hooves as a horse racing track has, since 1979, transformed into a popular recreational destination that attracts approximately 1.5 million visitors each year.
As you wander along the miles of paved pathways, you'll find yourself weaving through lush landscapes, shaded woodlands, and around four picturesque lakes. Regardless of whether you're out for a morning jog, an afternoon bike ride, or simply seeking a peaceful stroll away from Miami's urban energy, the abundant shade trees and open spaces offer a welcome breath of fresh air.
Water Activities
The park's four lakes are visually appealing and offer opportunities for freshwater fishing or taking out a paddle boat for a leisurely spin on the water.
You can find several peaceful lakeside spots to sit and enjoy the views - good places to relax or read a book.
Equestrian Facilities
Horses remain at the heart of Tropical Park's identity through the Ronald Reagan Equestrian Center. This impressive facility hosts more than 30 horse shows all year long, including events that draw international competitors. With two clay show rings, two grass courses, seating for around 1,000 spectators, and a modern arena sheltered by a massive steel roof, it's a world-class equestrian venue.
The park thoughtfully preserves its racing heritage by maintaining the original stables from its thoroughbred track days.

Sports Venues
The park offers facilities for many different types of athletes. Tropical Park Stadium, a versatile sports venue, represents home base for the Miami-Dade Track and Field Team and has welcomed prestigious national competitions over the years.
The park doesn't stop there - it offers an impressive array of sports facilities including fields for football, soccer, softball, and baseball, alongside courts for basketball, volleyball, tennis, pickleball, and racquetball. The facilities accommodate both competitive sports and casual play throughout the year.
Additional Amenities
For dog owners, The two-acre dog park gives your four-legged friends room to run, with thoughtfully separated areas for large and small dogs to play safely off-leash.
Fitness enthusiasts can check out the boxing center or work up a sweat at one of the outdoor fitness zones equipped with exercise equipment. For families, multiple playgrounds with shaded areas provide safe spaces for kids to burn off energy.
You'll also find plenty of picnic areas scattered throughout, complete with tables and BBQ grills - ideal for family gatherings. Clean restrooms and ample free parking make your visit comfortable and convenient.
Community Hub
Tropical Park hosts community events including a weekly farmers' market and seasonal celebrations. Planning a special occasion? The park offers rental spaces and shelters for birthday parties, family reunions, and other gatherings.
Tropical Park provides a green space in Miami's urban environment with a mix of natural areas, recreational facilities, and community spaces that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
