We absolutely love the shade-covered walking path that meanders throughout the grounds - excellent for a morning stroll or when you need to clear your head while taking in some pretty scenery.

Court Action

If you enjoy racquet sports, you'll find several options here. The park features lighted tennis courts that let you keep the game going even after sunset. There are also eight pickleball courts (some thoughtfully positioned to catch shade at different times of day) and racquetball courts for those looking to mix up their game.

The pickleball scene here is particularly vibrant - you can find a friendly community of regulars who are often happy to welcome newcomers. It's actually a great way to make some local connections while getting your exercise in.

Kid-Friendly Fun

Got little ones in tow? They'll likely make a beeline for the fire truck themed playground area. It's a hit with the younger crowd and gives parents a chance to relax while the kids burn off some energy.

When hunger strikes, head over to the large picnic pavilion with its multiple tables - a great setup for family lunches or weekend gatherings. The open grassy areas scattered across the park also provide plenty of space for frisbee tosses or impromptu ball games.

Parking is a breeze with the spacious lot, and there's additional street parking for those extra-busy days. One thing we really appreciate about Water Oaks is the abundance of trees providing ample shade - a true blessing during Miami's warmer months.

Just a heads-up that the restroom facilities and water fountains can be hit-or-miss according to some visitors, so you might want to come prepared with your own water bottle.

Hours and Location

The park welcomes visitors daily from 7AM to 8:15PM. You can find it next to Oliver Hoover Elementary School in a peaceful corner of unincorporated Southwest Miami-Dade. It's a quiet spot in the Hammocks neighborhood away from the busier parts of the city.
