About the Location
What You'll Find Here
Prince Hall Park is a green oasis with open spaces great for throwing a frisbee or spreading out a picnic blanket. There's a paved walking loop that circles the park - it's on the shorter side (just about an eighth to a quarter mile around), but nice for a casual stroll or getting in some steps without committing to a lengthy hike.
Kids will love the playground area, which got a complete makeover in 2023 as part of the City of Orlando's improvements. The new playground is modern, well-maintained, and thoughtfully fenced for extra peace of mind. We appreciate that it has options for both little ones and older children, so siblings of different ages can each find something fun.
One of the park's highlights is the lake with its natural wildlife. It's quite peaceful to sit in one of the shaded spots on a warm Florida day and watch the birds go about their business.
Cool Amenities
In 2023, the city brought Prince Hall into the 21st century by adding Wi-Fi connectivity across the park. This is great if you want to read on your tablet or maybe get a bit of work done in the fresh air. They also installed charging stations, so no more worrying about your phone dying while you're out enjoying nature.
There are several pavilions scattered around with picnic tables, and at least one comes equipped with a public grill - great for impromptu cookouts. You'll also find water fountains at different heights (tall for adults, short for kids) and a bicycle rack that even has an air pump attached.
For those looking to stay active, there's exercise equipment housed in a covered area. The four stations include tai chi arm circles, step-up platforms, a mobility ramp, and a cardio stepper. Nothing too intense - just right for a gentle workout or for seniors looking to stay limber.
The Vibe
The peaceful atmosphere makes Prince Hall a nice spot to decompress and reconnect with nature without having to leave the city.
Located on Prince Hall Boulevard on Orlando's west side, the park is a convenient green space for nearby residents. You can get there via public transportation - look for the Link 36 bus stop close by. For parking, you'll need to use street parking along the neighborhood roads rather than a designated lot.
Good to Know
Heads up that there are no public restrooms here, so plan accordingly. Also, while the playground is safely fenced, the general area near the lake isn't, so keep an eye on little explorers.
Four-legged friends are welcome, and there are waste bag stations available for when nature calls.
