Young Pine Community Park
About Young Pine Community Park
Recreation and Amenities
Located in Orlando, Florida, Young Pine Community Park spans across 61 acres of recreational space. Since opening its gates on January 28, 2017, it's become a breath of fresh air for locals looking to escape the everyday hustle.
The park offers a variety of spaces for different age groups. Little ones can play in the fenced playground specifically designed for smaller children, while older kids can enjoy the larger playground featuring a climbing mountain, an intricate spider web structure, and musical drums.
Teenagers haven't been forgotten either - the teen workout stations offer a great spot to break a sweat and hang out. And when nature calls, you'll find clean restrooms that are well-maintained, spacious, and air-conditioned - which is particularly welcome in Florida heat.
Sports and Green Spaces
Soccer enthusiasts will appreciate the well-maintained fields where practices and games regularly take place. These expansive grassy areas also double as perfect spots for throwing a frisbee, having a casual game of catch, or simply sprawling out on a blanket.
When it's time to refuel, gather around the shaded picnic tables or take advantage of the covered seating area that accommodates larger groups. These spaces are commonly used for birthday celebrations, family reunions, and picnics.
Natural Features and Trails
For nature walks, the park offers a walking path and wetland trail. The loop around the lake is part paved (about a third) and part grass, offering varied terrain for your stroll or jog.
Keep your eyes peeled for the local wildlife - turtles sunbathing, non-poisonous snakes slithering by, and various birds soaring overhead. Note that alligators and snakes might make an appearance, especially near the water, so maintain a respectful distance when exploring these areas.
Water Features
At the heart of the park is a lake with an accessible dock for fishing or relaxing. Brought your kayak or canoe? The dedicated kayak launch makes it easy to glide onto the water for a peaceful paddle.
Dog Park Areas
Dog owners will find a dedicated area toward the back of the walking trail. The dog park area is split into two separate sections - one for small dogs and another for larger ones - where dogs can socialize and play off-leash in a secure environment.
Parking and Accessibility
Parking is free, but spaces can fill up quickly during soccer events. The well-maintained facilities throughout make the park accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities.
Young Pine Community Park is a clean, safe environment where families and friends can gather and enjoy outdoor activities throughout the year.
