About the Location
Park Features
Located on Old Winter Garden Road in Orlando, Rose Place Park stretches across 18 acres of public green space. The park offers a variety of options whether you're looking to break a sweat or just enjoy some fresh air.
At the heart of the park lies a large open field that represents a blank canvas for whatever activity strikes your fancy. From impromptu football games to morning yoga sessions or even just spreading out a blanket for a lazy afternoon picnic, this versatile space adapts to your needs.
Recreation Areas
If you've got little ones in tow, you'll appreciate the newly renovated playground area that reopened in November 2023. The upgrade included ADA accessibility features and a protective perimeter fence for added safety.
Kids can now explore multiple slides, tackle climbing structures, and engage with sensory activities designed to stimulate all five senses. One standout feature is the ground-level merry-go-round with bench seating that ensures children of all abilities can join in the fun. Safety was clearly a priority here, with rubber flooring throughout and shade structures to keep the Florida sun at bay.
Walking paths meander through the grounds, well-suited for your morning jog, afternoon stroll, or walking your four-legged friend. You'll find benches scattered along these paths when you need a moment to catch your breath or simply sit and take in the surroundings. Near the playground, several benches offer parents and caregivers a comfortable spot to supervise the action.
Amenities
When hunger strikes, you'll discover several picnic areas within the park. Two covered pavilions house picnic tables for those who prefer dining in the shade, with additional uncovered tables available if you're seeking some vitamin D with your lunch.
Staying hydrated is easy thanks to the park's drinking fountain, which thoughtfully includes a lower basin for dogs.
A small parking lot provides convenient access to all areas of the park. Note that Rose Place Park doesn't have public restroom facilities, so plan accordingly.
Atmosphere
There's something genuinely welcoming about Rose Place Park. The grounds are well-maintained, and you'll typically find a friendly vibe among fellow park-goers. While weekends and sports practice times can draw crowds, the park's layout generally ensures enough space for everyone to do their own thing without feeling cramped.
Dog lovers will feel right at home here, as four-legged visitors are welcome to enjoy the walking paths alongside their humans. Whether you're seeking exercise, family fun, or just a peaceful outdoor escape, the balanced mix of open fields, shady spots, and recreational facilities makes Rose Place Park a versatile retreat for Orlando residents of all ages.
