Silver Lake Recreation Area is located in the northeastern corner of Apalachicola National Forest, approximately 8 miles west of Tallahassee, Florida. The park is centered around a spring-fed lake surrounded by a lush pine forest, creating a picturesque natural setting.

Beach and Water Activities

The recreation area features a 250-foot white sand beach along the lakeshore, which is popular for swimming during warmer months. Visitors can also enjoy fishing in the lake, with opportunities to catch largemouth bass, brim, and catfish.

Non-motorized boats are permitted on the 15-acre lake, allowing for peaceful paddling experiences.

Hiking Trails

A 1.3-mile nature trail loops around Silver Lake and the adjacent Andrews Lake, providing hikers with scenic views and opportunities for wildlife observation. The trail is relatively easy and suitable for most skill levels.
