About Giddens Park
Recreational Facilities
Covering roughly 11 acres, Giddens Park is a neighborhood green space for Tampa locals. The park welcomes visitors daily from 6AM to 9PM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy everything this clean, well-kept green space has to offer.
Children's Play Zone
If you've got kids in tow, the fully-equipped playground will likely be your first stop. With standard swings and a wheelchair accessible swing, the playground allows all children to participate.
Right next to the playground sits an interactive splash pad and fountain - nothing fancy, but absolutely fantastic for those sweltering Florida afternoons. It's small but effective when temperatures soar, and we've noticed many families using this spot for birthday celebrations.
ADGhost Investigation Tours with Interactive Paranormal Experience
Don't miss the chance to explore the chilling legends and ghostly tales that haunt the streets of Ybor City! SpookEasy Tours strives to provide a thrilling and immersive ghost tour experience by providing paranormal hunting equipment to use at our haunted locations which include SpookEasy Lounge-the most haunted kava bar in America, the old baptist church gravesite, Jose Martí park and more during the tour.
Sports Spots
The park offers several options for sports enthusiasts. The basketball courts are usually busy with pickup games, while the soccer fields offer plenty of space to practice your footwork or join an impromptu match.
These facilities are kept in good shape year-round, accommodating both casual players and more organized teams. There's also a volleyball area if that's more your speed - just remember to bring your own ball!
Green Spaces
Scattered trees create pockets of shade throughout the park, meant for spreading out a blanket or claiming one of the picnic tables. The atmosphere is notably peaceful - a surprising find so close to the city center.
The quiet areas make for great reading spots, and if you're into meditation or just need a moment to breathe, you can find plenty of secluded corners away from the more active zones.
Community Pavilion
The covered pavilion functions as the heart of community activity at Giddens. This gazebo-style structure offers a shaded retreat and can be reserved for special occasions if you're planning something in advance.
It's particularly nice during those afternoon hours when the sun is at its strongest, providing a comfortable spot to regroup during longer park visits.

Dog Park
Four-legged friends haven't been forgotten - the dedicated dog park area gives them room to burn off energy in a secure, fenced environment. There's ample space for fetch games and socializing with other neighborhood pups.
Just remember to pick up after your pooch - maintaining this space depends on everyone doing their part to keep it clean.
Amenities
The basics are covered with restroom facilities and water fountains available for visitors. The thoughtful layout means parents can easily keep an eye on the playground while relaxing nearby.
You'll appreciate the abundant shade options during summer visits, making Giddens comfortable even when Tampa's heat is in full force. What makes this park special isn't flashy features but rather its versatility - equally suited for a solo morning jog, a family afternoon, or a community gathering.
