Picnic Island Park is a 7.8-acre waterfront park located in South Tampa, Florida along Tampa Bay. The park offers a variety of recreational activities and amenities for visitors to enjoy.
Beach and Water Activities
The park features a small beach area along Tampa Bay, though visitors should note that the shoreline can be rocky and shelly in parts. There is a 350-foot fishing pier that extends out into the bay, providing opportunities for fishing and views of the water.
A boat ramp is available 24 hours a day for launching watercraft.
Land Recreation
For land-based activities, Picnic Island Park has playground equipment for children, sand volleyball courts, and an 18-hole disc golf course. There are also open grassy areas and a nature trail that winds through the park's natural habitats.
Picnic Facilities
The park is popular for picnicking, with numerous picnic tables, grills, and covered pavilions available. Some of the picnic shelters can be reserved for gatherings or parties.

One unique feature of Picnic Island Park is its designated off-leash dog beach area near the boat ramp, allowing visitors to bring their canine companions to play in the water. The dog beach is fenced for safety.
