About Dellwood Park
A Historic Green Escape
Tucked between Clifton Road and Ponce de Leon Avenue in Atlanta, Dellwood Park offers a piece of history wrapped in greenery. This 6.6-acre space is one of six parks that make up the Olmsted Linear Park - a verdant legacy designed by landscape visionary Frederick Law Olmsted Sr. back in the late 1800s.
Strolling through Dellwood feels like stepping into Olmsted's nature-embracing philosophy, with the park forming part of a beautiful two-mile stretch along Ponce de Leon Avenue in the charming Druid Hills neighborhood.
What You'll Find
Dellwood Park keeps things refreshingly simple. Instead of the usual playground equipment or sports courts, you'll discover winding paths that meander through mature woodlands, inviting you to slow down and breathe a little deeper. The gently rolling landscape and towering tree canopy create natural rooms fantastic for spreading out a blanket, diving into a good book, or simply watching the world go by.
What makes this space special is precisely what it doesn't have - here, nature itself is the main attraction, offering a quiet retreat from Atlanta's urban energy.

Planning Your Visit

Preservation in Progress
The Olmsted Linear Park Alliance has been hard at work in recent years, carefully restoring Dellwood to honor its historic roots while enhancing its natural value. Their efforts include tackling invasive plants, introducing native species, and improving drainage across the park.
Beyond just a place to visit, Dellwood Park represents a living chapter in urban design history - showing how Olmsted's vision for harmonizing nature with city life continues to benefit Atlantans more than a century later.
