Situated in the Mechanicsville neighborhood, Rosa L. Burney Park spans 15.6 acres of green respite in the heart of Atlanta. This urban oasis offers a welcome break from city life, however, what you'll experience can vary depending on when you visit and current maintenance conditions.

A Fresh Start

In September 2023, the park got a new lease on life thanks to revitalization efforts spearheaded by the Atlanta Braves organization. Coming a year after a tragic incident, these renovations symbolize the community's resilience and commitment to reclaiming their shared space.

That said, you might still notice some maintenance issues during your visit - a bit of litter here and there, and some uneven ground in parts of the park. It's a work in progress.

What to Do

Kids will light up at the sight of the expansive playground that caters to multiple age groups. It's a genuine highlight for families looking to burn off some energy.

Sports options abound with basketball courts (a particular hit with teens), a baseball field, tennis courts, and a swimming pool for those hot Georgia days. The courts often buzz with friendly competition and community spirit.
