Peachtree Hills Park
About Peachtree Hills Park
Recreational Facilities
At the heart of this nearby park sits a full-sized baseball diamond complete with lights, dugouts, and a batting cage. It can be used for traditional baseball games or other sports activities. Tennis players will appreciate the three lighted tennis courts, and if you're flying solo, there's a separate rally backboard where you can practice your serve without needing to drag a reluctant friend along.
Pickleball has made its mark here too, with dedicated courts that come alive especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Some tennis areas benefit from partial shade, making summer games a bit more bearable. Though we should mention, some of the court striping has seen better days.
A simple gravel pathway meanders through the park, offering a quick 0.25-mile loop for your morning jog or evening stroll. The playground is designed for both toddlers (2-5) and older kids (5-12), with slides, swings, and climbing structures. It's consistently clean too - always a plus when kids are involved.
Community Spaces
The park's recreation center hosts after-school programs, summer camps, and various neighborhood activities. With indoor basketball courts and flexible spaces, it's a valuable resource for local gatherings and programs.
Between the playground and tennis courts, you'll find a pleasant pavilion with picnic tables - fantastic for birthday parties or family lunches. Green thumbs will appreciate the community garden and separate children's community garden, where locals cultivate everything from flowers to vegetables, adding a touch of homegrown charm to the park.
Amenities and Access
For those with dogs, the park provides dog waste stations and pet-friendly water fountains throughout. While there's no dedicated dog park, the open fields offer plenty of space for your four-legged friends to stretch their legs. The playground sits under a canopy of trees, providing natural shade with benches nearby for when you need a breather.
You'll discover clean restroom facilities on site - something that shouldn't be remarkable but somehow always is in public parks. Parking is available at the recreation center lot (about 15 spaces including handicap spots), with additional street parking along Peachtree Hills Avenue NE if the lot is full.
